Is your computer slowing down?

There are variety of reasons why your computer runs so sluggish and sometimes you might end up having a freezing computer. Just this morning I was called by one of my friend to help him with his excel. It went freezing and excel program end up doing nothing. He rebooted it and it came back running. I noticed that the computer went so slow, so I checked the folders for temp files, and indeed the temp folder is loaded with so much files. Everytime you ran a program or install a program on your your computer it temporarily place a copy of the program in the temp folder. The computer does not remove these files, so over the period of continuous use this folder becomes overcrowded and it will affect the performance of your computer. To remove the temp files do the following:
1. Locate this folder:
In Win2000 : C:\WINNT\Temp
In Win XP : C:\WINDOWS\Temp
2. Select all the files inside this folder and delete them
3. Empty your Garbage Bin

There are other reasons that your computer will slow down. It might be caused by a virus or perhaps might be caused by Adwares. On my next blog, I will show the how tos of Virus removal and Adware removals plus protecting your computer.
